Hi, I’m Jolian Ardolino.
I’m an online psychotherapeutic counsellor accredited by the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), which ensures high standards of practice and ethics. My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of different therapeutic methods, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which is effective for identifying and changing negative thought and behaviour patterns, and Person-Centred Therapy, which focuses on providing a supportive environment for personal growth, to find what works best for you. Every person is unique, and I believe your therapy should be too.
I specialize in helping people living with anxiety regain control of their lives. My experience also includes working with stress, bereavement, depression, and self-defeating behaviors. No matter what you're facing, my goal is to provide a supportive, compassionate space where you feel heard and empowered to make meaningful changes.
Where I Am Based
I live in South Wales, but thanks to the flexibility of online counselling, I’m able to support people across the rest of the United Kingdom, and even internationally. Online counselling offers the convenience of accessing support from the comfort of your own home, making it easier to fit therapy into your life. If you're feeling unsure, please don't hesitate to reach out—I’d love to discuss how I might be able to support you.
Why I Became a Counsellor
As a teenager, I struggled with anxiety that felt overwhelming and isolating. I was fortunate to receive support from a psychologist who helped me transform my life, and this experience sparked my passion for helping others do the same. I know how life-changing it can be to have someone truly listen and walk beside you on your journey, and I want to offer that to others.
Over the years, I’ve worked in diverse roles: leading anxiety management groups, supporting adults with learning disabilities, and advocating for patients in psychiatric hospitals. I have also managed counselling services for those affected by cancer and bereavement. I have also held senior leadership positions in national charities, working to improve health and social care for people affected by dementia. Through it all, I’ve remained committed to a person-centred approach that empowers each individual to find their way forward.
I bring this dedication, empathy, and experience to every session. Together, we can explore your challenges and work towards the change you want to see. I’m here to support you—one step at a time.

I specialise in helping people overcome anxiety and regain a sense of control in their lives. In addition to anxiety, I also provide support for a wide range of other challenges, including:
Panic Attacks: Panic attacks can be frightening and overwhelming. I work with you to understand the triggers and develop coping strategies, empowering you to reduce the frequency and intensity of panic attacks.
Phobias: Phobias can limit your ability to fully enjoy life. I use proven therapeutic approaches, such as Systematic Desensitisation, to help you gradually face and overcome your fears, allowing you to regain freedom and confidence.
Stress: Stress can feel overwhelming and affect every part of your life. Through therapy, I can help you develop practical strategies to manage stress more effectively, such as assertiveness training, mindfulness exercises, and time management techniques, so you can feel more balanced and in control.
Relaxation Techniques: Anxiety and stress can leave you feeling constantly on edge. I teach practical relaxation techniques to help calm your mind and body, making it easier to manage anxiety and feel more at ease.
Depression: Depression can leave you feeling hopeless and alone. Together, we will work on understanding the root causes of your depression, developing healthier thought patterns, and putting them into action using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to find a way forward toward greater fulfilment and joy.
Bereavement: Losing a loved one is one of life’s greatest challenges. I offer a compassionate space where you can express your grief, work through your emotions, and find a path toward healing while honoring your loss.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD): OCD can create cycles of intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. I provide tools and techniques, including Systematic Desensitisation and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), to help you break these cycles, regain control, and reduce the impact of OCD on your daily life.
Illness and End-of-Life Concerns: Facing illness or end-of-life challenges can bring up a range of difficult emotions. I offer support in processing these emotions, helping you find peace, meaning, and acceptance during challenging times.
Anger Management: Anger can be destructive if not managed well. I can help you understand the underlying causes of your anger and develop healthier ways to express and manage it, improving your relationships and emotional well-being.
Self-Defeating Behaviours: Many of us have patterns of behavior that hold us back from achieving our full potential. I help you identify and break these patterns, so you can live a more fulfilling and empowered life.
Assertiveness: Struggling to speak up for yourself can lead to resentment and dissatisfaction. I provide guidance to help you develop assertiveness skills, so you can communicate your needs effectively and build healthier relationships.
Self-Esteem & Confidence: Low self-esteem can impact every aspect of your life. Through therapy, I help you challenge negative self-beliefs and build a stronger, more positive sense of self-worth.
If your concern isn't listed here, please reach out. I'm open to understanding your unique challenges and will work with you to find the right path forward. Together, we can navigate your journey to well-being.
